Tulsa, Oklahoma is a nice little city that isn’t too large and isn’t too small. The people are friendly, the weather is nice and there is always plenty going on. It’s a great place to live and we encourage everyone to visit here at least once. When you do, here’s what you can look forward to.

Blue Dome Entertainment District

The Blue Dome Entertainment District is nine square blocks of cool happenings. It’s full of boutiques, stores, restaurants, bars, clubs and all sorts of entertainment. It’s a bustling area of the city built around the Blue Dome, an historic Gulf Oil station. If you want to experience T-town for what it really is, this is the place to start.

Utica Square

Utica Square is more shopping with an upscale twist. It’s home to most major brands, department and chain stores. There are also some excellent bistros and restaurants to help recharge your shopping batteries as well as a range of salons and spas for when you really need to take a break.

Cain’s Ballroom

Tulsa is famous for its music and Cain’s Ballroom is a great place to experience that. This is one of the premier nightspots in the state and many big names perform here. The décor is excellent, the architecture amazing and the experience well worth trying.

Gilcrease MuseumGilcrease Museum

Gilcrease Museum takes you back to pioneer days and is a short drive from Tulsa. It has an impressive collection of Western art, artifacts and exhibits that shows what life was really like back in the early days of our country. There are 10,000 pieces here in all, so set aside a few hours to see them all!

Linnaeus Teaching Gardens

Linnaeus Teaching Gardens is a calm, tranquil place to sit quietly, contemplate the world or learn about horticulture. Volunteers are there to answer questions about gardening, the gardens themselves or the roses that are the main feature. It’s a small place, but one well worth a visit.

Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum

The Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum is one of the best venues of its kind anywhere in the world. It’s a great place to see animals from across the world, explore interactive exhibits, watch animals in action and even pet some of them. There are African exhibits, early Colombian sections and some great themed animal enclosures.

Philbrook Museum of ArtPhilbrook Museum of Art

The Philbrook Museum of Art is set inside a 72 room mansion that was once owned by a local oilman. The museum now houses a wide collection of pieces from around the world as well as touring exhibitions and lovely gardens. The museum covers 23 acres and is a great place to spend a day.

Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium

The Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium has a series of aerospace exhibits, from old aircraft to dioramas and artifacts. There is also a 3D planetarium where you can view the night sky in all its glory. The highlight though is the Top Gun exhibit where you sit in the cockpit of an F-14 Tomcat to try your skills in the flight simulator!
