nearby housing in: AlpharettaAthensAtlantaDuluthMacon

Atlanta really does cater for every taste. There are things to do outside and indoors, lots of things to see and plenty to experience. That’s what makes Atlanta such an interesting place to be. You could live here all your life and never get bored!Atlanta-GA-31-300x200

A few of the attractions in Atlanta include;

THE CATHOLIC SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is one of the oldest surviving churches in Georgia and is chock full of history. This very well preserved place of worship is a working church with plenty of history too. Well worth a visit whatever your religious views.

GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER

The Georgia World Congress Center is one of the largest convention centers in the county and is huge. During a convention, it can easily take 30 minutes to walk from one end to the other. Some of the biggest conferences and exhibitions in the world are held here and you have to see it to see why.

GEORGIA GOVERNOR’S MANSION

The Georgia Governor’s Mansion offers tours of the historic mansion that give you a glimpse of the administration of our state. Occasionally, the governor is there to welcome visitors, which is a nice bonus.

RHODES MEMORIAL HALLAtlanta-GA-11-300x210

Rhodes Memorial Hall is a glimpse back to how Atlanta used to be and is owned and run by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Tree-lined streets full of Victorian houses of splendor. There are tours available, which are highly recommended.

FOX THEATRE

Fox Theatre is one of our most popular destinations and with good reason. A fully restored 1920s theater, the venue can hold over 4000 and regularly features Broadway shows, concerts and performances from world stars.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

No visit to Atlanta would be complete without visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. Begin at the visitors center and work your way to his home, church and grave. It is a sobering experience and one every person in the country should try.

THE SHAKESPEARE TAVERN PLAYHOUSE

The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse on Peachtree Street is our take on the Globe Theater in England where Shakespeare used to perform. Here the Atlanta Shakespeare Company performs regularly and is well worth a trip. The performances are heartfelt and the building offers a great atmosphere.

PIEDMONT PARK

Piedmont Park has seen a lot of improvements over the past ten years and is now one of the premier destination for locals and visitors. Set in 165 acres, Piedmont Park plays host to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, trails, a lake and summer festivals. Whatever time of year you visit, this place never fails to impress.

OAKLAND CEMETERY

Oakland Cemetery is something a little different. It’s a park cemetery that features the graves of many soldiers from the Civil War as well as prominent Atlanta residents. As well as the graves, the perk is quiet, peaceful and a world away from the city.
